Morioworms are approximately 40-50mm long and are available in packs of 40g and 500g. Most larger lizards love eating morioworms, either as part of their staple diet or as a treat.
Feeding Instructions:
Feed mealworms as part of a varied diet to any suitably sized reptile or amphibian. Use feeding tongs or place them into an appropriately sized feeding dish. Be sure to check and remove any uneaten live food a few hours after feeding.
Care Instructions:
To keep mealworms healthy and nutritious for your pets, follow these care guidelines:
- Storage: Store mealworms in a cool, dry place. The ideal temperature range is 40-50Β°F (4-10Β°C). A refrigerator can be used to slow their metabolism and extend their shelf life.
- Container: Keep mealworms in a smooth-sided container with adequate ventilation to prevent moisture buildup and mold growth.
- Substrate: Provide a substrate of bran, oatmeal, or wheat germ, which mealworms can burrow into and feed on.
- Moisture: Add a small slice of potato, carrot, or apple to provide the necessary moisture. Replace the moisture source every few days to prevent mold growth.
- Cleanliness: Regularly clean the container by removing any dead worms or leftover food to maintain a healthy environment for the mealworms.
Properly cared for mealworms will remain healthy and provide a nutritious meal for your reptiles, amphibians, and wild birds.
